Whiten your teeth in just an hour with Zoom!
Imagine making your teeth up to eight shades lighter in just an hour
At Wahroonga Family Dental Centre you could whiten your teeth up to eight shades in just an hour thanks to the proven safe and effective Zoom Whitening program.
Performed by your trained and accredited dentist in the comfort of Wahroonga Family Dental Centre, Zoom Whitening is the only whitening formula to contain amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP), which can protect the enamel of your teeth and give you a more lustrous result without softening, weakening, or damaging your enamel.
How does Zoom Whitening work?
For optimum safety and results, Zoom Whitening is only available at your dentist’s office. Your Wahroonga Family Dental Centre practitioner has been specially trained and accredited in Zoom Whitening, so you know you’re in safe and very capable hands.
When you undergo a Zoom Whitening procedure, your gums and soft tissue will all be protected with a special covering, before the unique hydrogen peroxide whitening gel is applied to your teeth. This gel works to break down the bonds that make up the stains on your teeth, helping your teeth to whiten by up to 8 shades during the treatment.
Once the whitening gel is in place, your Wahroonga Family Dental Centre practitioner will apply the Phillips Zoom WhiteSpeed Whitening LED Accelerator. By shining this intense light on the whitening gel your treatment time is sped up, and it has been proven to improve teeth whitening results by up to 40%.
Once your in-practice whitening treatment has been completed, you may complement this with at-home Zoom Whitening products to help maintain your brighter smile, and possibly prevent the return of staining.
Is teeth whitening safe?
Teeth whitening has been proven to be very safe for your teeth and your gums when it is done under the supervision of your dental care professional. As Wahroonga Family Dental Centre practitioners are trained and accredited in the use of the Zoom Whitening system, you can rest assured that you are in capable hands, and will receive the high level of care you need.
Zoom Whitening will not adversely affect any of your existing tooth restorations such as crowns or fillings.
Are the results permanent?
While Zoom Whitening helps to reduce existing stains and may lighten your teeth by up to eight shades, staining may eventually begin to return due to factors such as aging and diet. The consumption of soft drinks, coffee, and heavily coloured food, as well as the use of tobacco products may also stain your teeth again.
However, through the use of Zoom Whitening at-home products, and through maintaining good dental hygiene, you should be able to reduce whitening fade-back.
Talk to your Wahroonga Family Dental Centre accredited Zoom Whitening practitioner to discuss the different types and strengths available to find the right program for you.
Are there any side effects to Zoom whitening?
While Zoom Whitening has been proven to be very safe, and up to 40% more effective, you may experience temporary increased sensitivity for up to three days after the completion of your treatment. Your Wahroonga Family Dental Centre practitioner will be able to advise you of any potential side-effects, and may prescribe you with a fluoride gel to help to temporarily minimize this sensitivity.
It should also be noted that this treatment may not be suitable for some people. Please consult with your dentist to discuss your suitability to undergo this program.
